Galaxy to unveil new coach today

Premiership

TS Galaxy are set to unveil former Bafana Bafana and Highlands Park mentor Owen Da Gama as their new head coach today.

Galaxy have been struggling since the start of the new season after buying the status of Highlands Park last season and lost 3-0 to SuperSport United on Saturday.

The Rockets had already fired Dan Malesela this season before appointing Zipho Dlangalala as caretaker coach before Christmas Day last year.

According to a source close to Galaxy, the management have approached Da Gama with the view to take over the coaching reins.

"The club is set to meet this morning to discuss many things including the issue of the coach," the source tells KickOff.com.

"Owen Da Gama has already been earmarked for the coaching position at the club."

The Rockets, who are currently sitting 13th in the DStv Premiership after only managing one win so far in their maiden appearance in the top-flight, had also considered Eric Tinkler for the position.
