Akoriko, who completed the move after having a medical on Friday, wished Usuthu well on their bid for a swift return to the Premier Soccer League.
The Durban-based outfit were relegated to the National First Division along with Moroka Swallows at the end of last season.
“I believe in all the players in the team, I think they can perform well and bring the team back into the PSL," Ouro Akoriko told the club's website.
He added: “I know the senior players like Robyn [Johannes], Marc [van Heerden], Ayanda [Dlamini], 'Deco' [Goodman Dlamini] and Energy [Murambadoro] can push these young boys in the team to work hard.”
The ex-Free State Stars man scored two goals in 23 starts in all competitions in 2014/15.
