Rantie, Ritchie in Dube Birds training

Premiership

Former Bafana Bafana striker Tokelo Rantie and defender Keegan Ritchie are currently undergoing assessments at Swallows FC.

Ritchie played for The Dube Birds from 2008 to 2009 when it was still known as Moroka Swallows. In 2011 he earned a dream move to Kaizer Chiefs, where he won a league title the following season.

Last season the 30-year-old Alberton-born left-back was with the now-defunct Bidvest Wits, where he made eight appearances in all competitions.

Rantie, who is also 30, has been searching for a club since being released by Mamelodi Sundowns in January this year following ill-discipline. His last match for The Brazilians was the Shell Helix Ultra Cup in October 2019.

The ex-Orlando Pirates forward had been training with Bloemfontein Celtic since February but his assessment was disrupted by the national lockdown and football suspension.

According to a source, the club has not yet made decisions on the pair.
