Tyson coup the biggest of all Wits stars

Bidvest Wits captain Thulani Hlatshwayo would undoubtedly go down as one of the biggest coups for any PSL club amid The Clever Boys’ reported status sale.

There have been widespread reports of a jumble sale at the Braamfontein-based side, with the likes of Hlatshwayo and Deon Hotto headlining their exit list.

Wits are believed to be in the middle of a takeover with former Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila boss Masala Mulaudzi reportedly set to become the club’s new owner.

As first reported by KickOff.com, both ‘Tyson’ and Hotto have indicated a preference for Orlando Pirates over other suitors as the two clubs finalise the paperwork behind the scenes.

The Bafana Bafana skipper is currently The Clever Boys’ most valuable asset at an estimated value of R19-million, according to transfermarkt.com at the current Euro-Rand exchange rate.

Pirates could, however, be getting the burly centre-back on a bargain given the club’s current situation, while several others could also be shipped out for less than their estimated values – which it has to be stated is also inflated due to the poor state of the Rand.

The likes of Thabang Monare and Haashim Domingo have also been tipped for an exit before the club’s proposed sale is finalised, but where do they rank among the club’s top 10 most valuable players?
