Absa Prem top 10 goal scorers

The race for the Absa Premiership golden boot is hotting up with three players now tied aloft the standings as they begin to separate themselves from the rest of the pack.

Following the midweek league action, three players are now tied on seven goals after two of them netted a brace in Wednesday evening’s round of fixtures.

At the current rate, the leading scorer at the end of the season is expected to break the 20-goal mark should they maintain the sort of form shown in the opening third of the season.

Polokwane City striker Charlton Mashumba also became the first player to score a hat-trick this season in their eight-goal thriller with Cape Town City at the Cape Town Stadium.

Elsewhere, Kaizer Chiefs winger Dumisani Zuma netted a brace as they beat Chippa United 2-0 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth to stretch their lead at the top of the table.
