Zwane reacts to hat-trick exploits

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Themba Zwane says he wants to contribute with more goals and assists this season.

Zwane netted a hat-trick within nine minutes in the first stanza as Sundowns edged AmaZulu 4-3 to go two points clear at the top of the log.

"Obviously I want to thank my teammates, we did well, as a player I want to score more, create more chances. I want to work for my team," Zwane said on SuperSport TV.

'Mshishi', as the player is fondly known was on the wrong side of the law after quickly going off the pitch to change a muddy shirt for a clean one without asking permission from the referee and he received a yellow card for his offence.

"To be honest I was not aware [about needing permission to change a shirt] because they were putting us under pressure so I wanted to change quickly. But ja it's my mistake and I apologise to the coaches," he said.

Sundowns' Man of the Match added that he is only focused on improving himself rather than individual accolades.

"I'm focusing on improving the 'Mshishi' of last season, trying to get more goals, more assists, help my team to win trophies," he added.
