More clubs have since followed suit elsewhere to leave a seemingly unprecedented amount of talent from across the league waiting in the wings to see where they will be plying their trade next season.
Former Amakhosi goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi is included in that number and is the most valuable goalkeeper on the free agents' list, and features in goal ahead of former Bafana Bafana captain Thulani Hlatshwayo, who was released by Orlando Pirates earlier this month.
Ex-Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso features alongside Hlatshwayo in a defensive sense, with former AmaZulu full-back Philani Zulu also among those who make the ranks.
Xola Mlambo features in a three-man midfield after his release from Usuthu where he takes his spot alongside renowned Zambia international Nathan Sinkala and defensive midfielder Lucky Baloyi, who parted ways with Stellenbosch FC and Maritzburg United, respectively.
Further up the field, ex-AmaZulu stars Augustin Mulenga and Luvuyo Memela take to the flanks on either side of former Bafana Bafana star Lebo Manyama, with ex-Sekhukhune United front-man Justin Shonga leading the attacking line.
