The PSL's 10 most valuable U21s

With the international breaking making way for the return of domestic football this weekend, here is a look at the 10 most valuable U21 players in the DStv Premiership.

Earlier this week, five U21 players from the DStv Premiership completed their international duty with Bafana Bafana, where they helped the national team record back-to-back 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying wins over Ethiopia.

Among them, Baroka FC striker Evidence Makgopa and Maritzburg United forward Bongokuhle Hlongwane played a starring role, while the likes of Njabulo Blom, Luke Fleurs and Ethan Brooks were also in the squad.

The quintet also occupy space among the domestic league's most valuable players, although Brooks narrowly misses out on a spot in the top 10, which also features Orlando Pirates midfielder Goodman Mosele, who withdrew from the national team camp earlier this month.

Mosele is, in fact, the DStv Premiership's most valuable U21 player and commands a market value of around R10.9 million following his move from Baroka to Orlando Pirates at the start of the current season.

He tops the chart ahead of the Kaizer Chiefs duo of Blom and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, who round out the top three, while SuperSport United also boast two representatives in the form of Fleurs and Keenan Phillips.
