Morena was involved in a number of duels with the speedy Bidvest Wits forward after he came off the bench in the 60th minute and was deployed down the left flank.
“When he [Mahlambi] came in I told him ‘Hey, don’t run because you’ve already got me here’ but I knew that he’s going to come at me so I had to always be on my feet [on my toes],” Morena said on SuperSport TV upon being named man of the match.
“I’d like to say thanks to the one above us for the strength he gave us, the belief from the coach and everything went so good because of my teammates. This award is not only for me, it’s for the rest of the team.
“And on the performance, we went all out, we know we have to catch up with our games but every game that you have to catch up on it’s not like you are already winning, you have to work hard for the three points so we did that.”
On which position is his strongest, Morena added: “Right-back is my best position because I’ve been dominating and doing all my best so wherever the coach says I’m going to play, I’m just going to give my best.”
