PSL star's top five Absa Prem defenders

Cape Town City captain Thamsanqa Mkhize has selected his top five contenders for the 2019/20 Absa Premiership defender of the season.

This current season has seen some exciting defensive players in the PSL and Mkhize has shared his top five he feels have had a good season.

His selections include a new favourite for many this season, Rushine De Reuck, as well as Kaizer Chiefs youngster Reeve Frosler.

"For me, the player from Maritzburg United, Rushine de Reuck, has been playing well for his team," Mkhize tells KickOff.com.

"He's been putting in solid performances. He has done well and I feel that he deserves a nomination.

"Edmilson Dove has played well many times for our team playing as a centre-back. He’s also had solid games playing as a left-back, where he has been contributing to creating and scoring goals.

"Reeve Frosler from Chiefs has also been having a good season, playing consistently and helping his team create goals.

"Motjeka Madisha has been on top of his game and it's been a solid season for him also, he has been consistent with his game throughout the season.

"Taariq Fielies, I think he also had a good season considering that he joined us later and didn’t have a pre-season. But he still managed to contribute to the strength of the team, and that shows that he is a quality defender."
