The SuperSport United striker who turned 34 in July this year has scored three goals in the first five league games that's fired the club to second place behind Tshwane rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.

While Broos admitted that he's looking towards youth to rebuild Bafana, he expressed his admiration for the veteran forward earlier this season after watching him score against Swallows.

"I saw the great guy [Thamsanqa] Gabuza," he told this website in August. "I was told it was the Gabuza from four, five years ago, I remember him when I played with Cameroon against South Africa.

"Yes my man, I still want to play there [in Bafana], I still want to score goals, you can see I'm trying very hard," he tells KickOff.com.

"I want to be the leading goalscorer, definitely, I want to bang goals this season my man, as much as I can, I'm working hard and if you do that nobody can stop you."

Gabuza made his international debut at the age of 25 under Gordon Igesund and went on to score five times for the national team.
