Ramagalela will go into the final day of the season on Saturday level with Mamelodi Sundowns’ Tau on top of the goal scoring charts. They have 11 goals, but Ramagalela would most probably feel he should be way ahead considering how he started the campaign.
The former Black Leopards man, who also has three assists, scored nine goals in the first half of the season and has bagged just two in the second round.
Even though he has endured a tough second half of the season, Semenya feels Ramagalela cannot be left out in the final list of nominees for the topflight's biggest individual award.
“In terms of nominations he does deserve to be nominated. He has been performing for the team and he has been helping us, even though the results were not going our way, but he was always there in terms of contributing to the team,” Semenya tells KickOff.com.
“As for Tau, he has been consistent for Sundowns. If you look at his assists, he helped the team and he also deserves to be nominated. But it’s up to the the people who vote for the nominees to decide and to vote for the best player,” the former Platinum Stars defender adds.
Rise and Shine, meanwhile, will play Chippa United on the final day of the season at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium (15h00) aiming to avoid being sucked into the relegation play-offs.
