Big injury blow for Citizens striker

A Cape Town City striker will be out for at least two months following a knee operation.

Tashreeq Morris just recently returned to the top-flight when he made the switch from GladAfrica Championship club Ajax Cape Town on a three-year deal.

The 25-year old attacker, who has featured for the Citizens this season coming off the bench, has undergone a meniscus operation on his left knee.

According to club chairman John Comitis, it is unfortunate that Morris has been dealt an injury blow so shortly after joining the team.

"He was looking in good nick for us but has now picked up a meniscus injury," Comitis confirms to KickOff.com.

"I think he will be out for at least two months."

Morris had a decent scoring record for the Urban Warriors. Teaming up with his former teammates like Abbubakar Mobara, Riyaad Norodien and Travis Graham at City could just help the lanky striker rekindle his goalscoring form.
