Swallows set to name permanent coach


Swallows FC are expected to announce their new head coach on Thursday in time for their next DStv premiership league fixture at the weekend.

The Dube birds next face Maritzburg United in a league clash at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday.

Swallows are currently overseeing a rigorous search for a new head coach after parting ways with Brandon Truter on Sunday.

Kickoff.com revealed on Monday that former Kaizer Chiefs striker, Fannie Madida was overseeing first-team training while the club looks to appoint a permanent coach.

Club chairman David Mogashoe says Swallows are looking for the right candidate who has an in-depth knowledge of local football.

"My phone can't stop ringing," Mogashoe tells Kickoff.com.

"We are receiving CVs both from local and international coaches.

"We should be announcing the new coach on Thursday.

"We are looking for a coach with experience of working in Africa and who understands local football," he added.

Experienced campaigners Dylan Kerr and Owen da Gama are believed to be the favourites for the role with the former a preferred candidate.
