Swallows players not paid for December

Financial troubles are reportedly continuing to plague DStv Premiership side Swallows FC with reports alleging that certain first-team players were not paid.

Sources close to the club have revealed that there had been a delay in certain players receiving their salaries for the December period.

"We are reporting back to training soon, and yes there are those who were not paid for December but it's just a delay that's all," a club official revealed.

"It's not a big problem, it's only for December.

"Majority of the squad was not paid, but they are sorting it out now, it will be sorted before the weekend."

According to a second source, most players did indeed receive their salaries with the club refuting any reports of financial struggles.

Swallows CEO Sipho Xulu refused to comment on the matter as he is set to return from a festive break on Monday.
