Thibedi spent last season at Swallows in an initial loan stint and has now returned permanently to the Dube Birds after being surplus to requirements at Chiefs.

"Thibedi has joined us on a permanent deal. I can't comment about the duration of his contract but I can tell you that he has an employment letter from Swallows," club boss David Mogashoe tells KickOff.

Club CEO Sipho Xulu also gave valuable insight into why Swallows decided to retain the defender's services.

"Yes, he's back," Xulu added.

"What I can tell you is that we spoke to Chiefs and agreed that we should continue with the boy. I don't think we needed to convince them, we discussed the position, and we agreed.

"I don't know how much they needed him, but we ended up reaching an agreement that the boy should stay with us."

"Thibedi played a major role last season, which is what made us go back and negotiate. We brought him back because of his work rate.

"Because he was here last season and he contributed to what we are, I don't think he is disappointed."
