Defender Njabulo Ngcobo was named man of the match against Kaizer Chiefs

Soaring Swallows set sights on Pirates

After beating Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 on Tuesday, top-of-the-table Swallows FC are already excited about the original Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates.

Swallows are currently on cloud nine after winning the bragging rights in Dobsonville to reach double figures in points after five DStv Premiership matches.

The Dube Birds remain unbeaten since their return to the elite league this season with Brandon Truter's side heading to Durban for their next league match against Golden Arrows at Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday.

However, there is no man happier at the moment than Birds boss David Mogashoa after watching his team's fine start following their promotion from the GladAfrica Championship last season.

After beating Chiefs on Tuesday, Mogashoa is already targeting another victory over the other Soweto giants in January next year.

"We are looking forward to the original Soweto Derby that is happening against Orlando Pirates, that one is going to be fireworks," Mogashoa tells

"But for now we are taking each game at a time. We are not even thinking about that game [against Pirates] to be honest. Our focus is on the next game against Arrows.

"It's one game at a time and once we are done with that game, we go to the next match."
