Swallows make decision on Mere

Premiership

Swallows FC owner David Mogashoa has confirmed the club has reached an agreement with veteran defender Vuyo Mere to extend his contract.

Mere's contract with Swallows expired at the end of last season and the former Mamelodi Sundowns defender was not amongst the players retained by the club last week.

But Mogashoa has since cleared the air surrounding the future of the veteran defender, whose professional career spans over two decades in the PSL.

"Vuyo is staying with us, he has agreed on a new contract, it's [just] a matter of signing," Mogashoa tells KickOff.com about the 36-year-old.

Meanwhile, head coach Brandon Truter has cut his holiday in Cape Town short to start preparing the club for next season after leading The Dube Birds to the 2019/20 GladAfrica Championship title.

The Soweto-based club is set to keep Dobsonville Stadium as their home ground next season with Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa being their alternative venue.
