Struggling GladAfrica Championship side Swallows FC have signed eight new players in an effort to turn their poor start to the season around.
Vuyo Mere, Given Thibedi, Patrick Meso, Elliot Seema, Broderick Burds, Mbonisi Chagi, Tebogo Sodi and Kagiso Malinga.
According to club chairperson David Mogashoa, all that is left now is for the players to undergo their medicals.
"We had a lot of players that came to try their luck with us," Mogashoa tells KickOff.com.
"But it is these players that stood out and we believe they can help take the team forward. What I particularly like is that we have Vuyo who is hard-working and experienced. We need players like him and Cheeseboy [Lebohang Mokoena] to guide the youngsters.
"I always say to the team the Moroka Swallows badge is heavier than that of the previous teams they worked for and these players they understand the weight and they are willing to carry it on their shoulders and walk bare foot on thorns. That's the kind of spirit and commitment I'm looking for and these players are willing to do that.
"This was done in consultation with the coach [Zeca Marques]. He is the one that gave the go ahead."
Mogashoa says all the players have signed one-year deals with the Dube Birds.
"All our players are on 12-month contracts. We will assess and re-sign the contracts as we go along."
Head coach Zeca Marques says he is also happy with the new acquisitions.
"Overall technical and tactical qualities, experience, pace in attack, more opportunity of scoring, midfield more combative and experienced, defensively more aggressive and solid. Overall a more balanced team. Midfield that is more creative, better passing qualities, improves our possession, long and short passes better," Marques said.
The Dube Birds are currently at the bottom of the table with one point after three matches.
