Mogashoa: We still brag about Chiefs

Swallows FC boss David Mogashoa has thrown a punchline towards Kaizer Chiefs ahead of their next Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates.

The Birds beat Amakhosi 1-0 in the first Soweto Derby in Dobsonville last year and are now targeting Pirates to complete their dominance in Soweto in the first round of the DStv Premiership.

Swallows are currently sitting second on the log only behind Mamelodi Sundowns on goal-difference.

Mogashoa has since warned local fans that newspapers will not sell on Monday if his team beats Pirates in what has been termed as the original Soweto Derby at Orlando Stadium on Sunday (15h30).

"If we beat Pirates on Sunday I feel sorry for all the print [media] companies because they won't be selling a lot of newspapers, because when we beat Pirates a lot of people will get upset," Mogashoa tells

"There won't be newspapers. We will just be making noise on social media. You just have to switch off your phone because we are going to be all over the place."

The Dube Birds are going into the league match against the Buccaneers oozing confidence after beating another in-form team in Cape Town City 3-2 in Dobsonville on Tuesday.

Mogashoa is keeping his cards close to his chest about his prediction for the result against the Sea Robbers.

"That we will leave it for 17h30 on Sunday [after full-time]. We have done the first part when we beat Chiefs," he adds.

"So we have half the bragging rights about beating Chiefs because we still have to play them again and will probably wallop them again. So we will meet Pirates on Sunday and take it from there."
