SuperSport United are preparing to enter into negotiations with Thamsanqa Gabuza in a bid to offer the in-form striker a new contract.

The Bafana Bafana international's current contract is set to expire at the end of the season in June next year.

The Kwazulu Natal-born striker will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club in just three weeks.

AmaZulu are reported to be keen admirers and are tipped to be lining up an attempt to lure Gabuza back home for next season.

SuperSport are now believed to be putting together a package to tie down the in-form Gabuza to fend off any rival interest.

"They want to keep him," says a source close to the club.

"He adds a lot of value to the club and is a great character to have around in the dressing room.

"The club loves Gabuza and he is enjoying himself here," the source adds.

SuperSport United have also previously confirmed that they will be willing to listen to offers for midfielder Tebogo Mokoena next season.
