Mbule to Kaizer Chiefs is 'fake news'

Premiership

Supersport United have dismissed rumours circulating that an agreement has been reached with Kaizer Chiefs for the transfer of midfielder Sipho Mbule.

Rumours were rife on Wednesday that Amakhosi were close to unveiling the 23-year-old after securing his services.

However, a Matsatsantsa official, Mazolman Skhosane has since strongly dismissed these reports.

"This is just fake news," Skhosane tells KickOff. "We know some journalists are trying to sell players to their favourite teams.

"First it was Mamelodi Sundowns. Now it is Kaizer Chiefs.

"We don't know tomorrow perhaps it'll be Cape Town City, Amazulu or even Orlando Pirates.

"The management team are upset at these rumours, and the coach is not happy about it."

"We have an important game against Arrows next week. Some people just want to destabilise our team, and we will not accept that."

Supersport United are set to face Golden Arrows in an MTN8 quarter-final in Durban next weekend.
