Sundowns turn attention to DStv Prem title glory

Co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi has urged his Mamelodi Sundowns side to quickly turn their attention to clinching the DStv Premiership after the disappointment of crashing out of the CAF Champions League.

Sundowns require a solitary point in their next league encounter at home to Cape Town City to seal a record fifth consecutive DStv Premiership trophy.

Speaking after his side crashed out of the continental showpiece after a 3-2 aggregate defeat to Petro de Luanda, Mngqithi urged his side to bounce back quickly.

"We give the feeling of excitement and celebrations a 24-hour window while we also will give this feeling of unhappiness and disappointment the same time period.

"After that, we must pick ourselves up and focus on the next assignment because we know we are competing in all these competitions in order to be able to see how far can we go in all of them.

"So I am confident that the team after 24 hours maybe might come back and be very angry and willing to go all out in the next competition.

"Whenever achieving our goals doesn't happen, we can't say it was due to a lack of trying.

"We will give it our best shot and we have a very good leadership group within the team from the president, chairman, management and the coaches.

"I am very confident that we are a united team able to bring the team back quickly to focus on the next assignment."
