KickOff.com can reveal that Ghanaian legend Sulley Muntari has made it more tempting for Kaizer Chiefs to consider signing him next season.
Muntari, who was also linked with a move to Maritzburg United but could not agree terms on his salary, has previously expressed his interest in playing for Amakhosi before he retires from football.
The former AC Milan midfielder is currently a free agent and training on his own at home in Ghana.
According to sources close to Muntari, the good news for Chiefs is that the 36-year-old former UEFA Champions League winner is ready to sacrifice for a more reasonable salary package just to don the black and gold jersey this year.
"Muntari is still keen to play in the PSL. He has always had a desire to play for Kaizer Chiefs. There has been contact [with Chiefs] but nothing formal," the source tells KickOff.com.
Chiefs will be free to register new players in the next transfer window at the end of the season, when they will have served their FIFA transfer ban.
Amakhosi are set for a major overhaul with the likes of Siphelele Ntshangase and Willard Katsande expected to leave Naturena.
