Kaizer Chiefs boss Stuart Baxter has delivered his verdict on Austin Dube's full debut for the club.
Dube joined Chiefs from Richards Bay at the start of the season and made his first start for the club on Sunday as the Amakhosi succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to title rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.
Despite the disappointment of the result, head coach Baxter was pleased with what he saw from the 28-year-old, who he has backed to enjoy a successful career in the famous gold and black strip.
"I think he did well in patches," Baxter said. "Austin is going to be a good player. At times he showed that he is going to be a decent player for us.
"It was a tough one for him. He will have to reflect on it and improve, same as everybody else. I think Austin is a good lad, a good professional and he will improve."
Fellow new arrival Njabulo Ngcobo was also included in the matchday squad, although the 2020/21 PSL Defender of the Season was not introduced for his maiden appearance for the club.
