Baxter: Goals come from wherever

Chiefs needed a penalty on the stroke of half-time to secure a 1-0 win over Steve Komphela's stubborn side as they played a containment game at FNB Stadium.

MATCH REPORT: Masango keeps the wins coming

After his side's 11th straight competitive win this season, Baxter is not concerned about who's getting the goals for his team, as long as they're getting them.

"The goals come from a lot of angles, so that's what we like," he said after the match, which took a number of saves from goalkeeper Virgil Vries to keep the score at only 1-0.

"People have asked yeah your strikers are not getting on the scoresheet a lot, but they are getting in good situations, and when they do get on the scoresheet then we'll have a lot of goals.

"So I'm quite happy as long as we keep winning the games and we make the goals come from wherever."

Reflecting on his side's narrow victory, Baxter added: "It was a tough game, one, because it came after a big one [MTN8 Final], two, they were difficult opponents and we knew Steve would do everything to make it a difficult evening for us.

"Considering all of that, I thought we did okay. I think we were a little bit up and down in our performance, we turned over the ball more than we usually do and I thought in our transition play we weren't clinical enough, we could have had a couple more goals and made it an easier evening. It's a good performance in as much as we saw the game out properly."
