Stellenbosch head coach Steve Barker says Iqraam Rayners will have to show SuperSport United the kind of player they have signed when the two sides meet tonight.
Rayners, who won last season's top goalscorer award in the National First Division, has signed a pre-contract to join Matsatsantsa next season.
The two sides have a Valentine's Day date at Cape Town Stadium tonight scheduled for 20h00.
Barker was asked if he will protect the player from the pressure of having to face his future club, as other coaches in the PSL sometimes do
"No, he must play. He must show them why they want him. He must hammer them!" Barker tells KickOff.com.
"No look, obviously he's looking forward to playing for them. He knows, we all know where he will be playing next season so it's a great opportunity for him to show them what they have invested in.
"So ja, he's looking forward to having a big impact in the game. There's no reason why he shouldn't play. As I said right from the beginning, he is committed to us till the end of the season, he's got a contract with us, he knows he has to honour that.
"For me, it's an opportunity for him. He knows that 'I want to go out and impress them and show them what I'm capable of doing'. So we have no issues with that and we are looking forward to him causing them problems."
Stellies are 11th on the log with 24 points after 21 matches and a win tonight would see them move into the top eight, while SuperSport could move to second place if they register three points.
