Stellies told to find another home

Absa Premiership newcomers Stellenbosch FC are on the look out for another venue to use as their home ground next season as Idas Valley Stadium does not meet the Premier Soccer League's compliance manual.
The 2 500-seater stadium was used by Stellies in their successful 2018/19 National First Division campaign, but does not comply with the League's demanding criteria.
The National First Division champions are currently negotiating with Stellenbosch University to allow them to use their Danie Craven Stadium next season as they are keen to take the game to the people of the surrounding communities where they are based.
"Idas Valley is not approved," PSL official Ronnie Schloss tells
"Stellenbosch Football Club was still in negotiations with Stellenbosch University. They submitted three venues which was Stellenbosch University, Idas Valley and Athlone. But they are trying to get Stellenbosch University.
"I've been there at Stellenbosch University, it's absolutely fine, it's just that they have to put up the fence around the pitch. It depends on them putting the fence around the pitch, it's Danie Craven Stadium, the rugby stadium.
"Idas Valley doesn't meet the requirements of the League from a safety point of view. There's a whole host of things that don't meet the requirements, but mainly on the safety, the number of exit points, the number entry points and so on."
