Stellenbosch FC have added more South American flair to their ranks after confirming the signing of Venezuelan winger Juan Carlos Ortíz.
Stellenbosch have signaled their intentions in the transfer window after completing a deal to sign a highly-rated Venezuelan winger, Juan Carlos Ortíz on Friday.
The 28-year-old, who is capable of playing down the right flank or as a centre-forward, arrives in the Cape Winelands after a recent spell with Venezuelan Primera División side Monagas.
There, Ortíz scored an impressive 16 goals in 32 league matches which saw him rank as the third-most prolific player in the division during the 2021 campaign and was included in the Best XI for the season.
He also previously enjoyed spells with the likes of Trujillanos, Llaneros de Guanare and Ureña in his homeland and becomes the second South American on Stellies' books, alongside Argentine ace, Júnior Mendieta.
Ortíz will wear the No. 15 jersey for the club this season and could make his debut on 11 February when Steve Barker's side hosts Baroka FC in the Nedbank Cup.
