Stellenbosch FC have confirmed the departures of two more players after announcing that Asavela Mbekile and Constandino Christodoulou had both parted ways with the club.

Mbekile (34) is the latest player to leave Stellenbosch ahead of the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season after the former Orlando Pirates midfielder's season-long stay at the club came to an end on Tuesday evening.

"The club would like to thank Asavela Mbekile for his year's service and wish him all the best for his future. Go well shoozie!" Stellenbosch said in a statement.

Mbekile made 21 appearances across all competitions last season and his departures came just hours after Stellies announced that reserve team goalkeeper Christodoulou had earned a move to the United States to join Dartmouth College's soccer program.

"The club is proud to announce that SFC Reserves GK Constandino Christodoulou (18) has received a full soccer and academic scholarship at the Ivy League research university, Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, USA." the club announced on Monday.

The duo's respective departures means Stellenbosch have now parted ways with five players ahead of the new campaign after the club previously confirmed the exits of Azeemud-deen Brenner (22), Kristopher Bergman (32) and Phathutshedzo Nange (29).
