Ex-CTC midfielder surfaces at Gallants

Premiership

Former Cape Town City and Cape United midfielder Siyabonga Dubula has started training with Marumo Gallants.

Dubula, 26, was due to leave South Africa for MFK Zemplin during the off-season after attracting interest from the Slovakian top-flight outfit but the prospective move fell through after being denied a visa.

The Covid-19 travel restrictions saw an application denied for the technically gifted midfielder to return to Europe, where he spent time during his formative years with training stints at Ujpest in Hungary and Standard Liege in Belgium.

But Gallants could benefit from his recent misfortunes with a source confirming to KickOff.com that Dubula started training with the club this week with the view to impress the new-look technical team led by Frenchman Sebastian Migne.

The club formerly known as Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila have already unveiled nine new signings for the season but new arrivals are imminent as they prepare to bolster their options for the 2021/22 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
