SuperSport United midfielder Sipho Mbule has been one of the best young stars this season and scored again in their latest win, prompting calls for him to be earmarked for awards.
Mbule scored his third goal of the season in his side's 2-0 victory over Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old's form helped Matsatsantsa win the MTN8 and earned him a call-up to the South Africa under-23 team that qualified for the 2020 Olympics.
SuperSport coach Kaitano Tembo, however, feels it's too early for people to consider Mbule as a contender for Absa Premiership Young Player of the Season.
"Look for me it's game by game by game. You know it's too early, there's a lot of football to be played," Tembo said after his side's latest win.
"If he can do this consistently maybe with five games to go then we can start talking about 'you've done this, scored how many goals, you've created how my goals' and then we can start talking about that.
"So he's done well but you are only as good as your last game, so we are looking forward to the next match."
SuperSport, who are in third place on the Absa Premiership table 11 points behind Kaizer Chiefs, host struggling Stellenbosch on Saturday.
