Mkhonza: Bucs for the League

The Buccaneers are flying in the CAF Confederation Cup, where they have reached the semi-finals, but it’s been a slow start to the domestic season.

They were dumped out of the MTN8 by Ajax Cape Town, before losing their League opener to SuperSport United.

However, they bounced back in style with a 4-1 drubbing of Chippa United, and Mkhonza believes they will be the team to beat in 2015/16.

Who will win the League?
Orlando Pirates. They have quality and experienced players and the fact that they didn’t have an off-season will make them stronger. They have been together for many years now and the team has matured. I don’t see any team stopping them.
Who will win the Telkom Knockout?
SuperSport United. They know how to win when it matters most and for me they will defend the trophy they won last season.
Who will win the Nedbank Cup?
Kaizer Chiefs. They are always trophy-hungry and I don’t see them finishing this season without winning something.
Who will be relegated?
University of Pretoria. You can’t use the same philosophy for many years and expect to survive all the time. This season they are going to the NFD.
Who will be the dark horse of the season?
Golden Arrows. They will surprise a lot of people this season. They have a group of exciting youngsters.
Which team will be promoted from NFD?
AmaZulu. They have a great group of players who are Under-23 and they will be able to carry the team back into the PSL.
Which young player will likely impress this season?
Menzi Masuku and Hendrick Ekstein. This is the year of skillful players because everyone is embracing skill. This year the Footballer of the Season will be won by a skillful player.
Which player deserves (or badly needs) to get a move?
Abbubaker Mobara. He is my favourite player in the League and he deserves a chance.
