Pirates midfielder set for loan move?

Kick Off.com has gathered that Orlando Pirates could send one of their midfielders out on loan to satisfy his need for more game-time.

Signed from Maritzburg United at the end of last season, Siphesihle Ndlovu has made just seven appearances for the Sea Robbers this season and is understood to be looking at his options.

The 23-year-old, who signed for Pirates alongside Fortune Makaringe, was also spotted at Harry Gwala Stadium to watch his old team's game against Chiefs at the end of December, adding to the speculation.

Maritzburg coach Eric Tinkler, meanwhile, has admitted he needs cover in midfield as he discussed his plans for the January transfer window.

"There's no concern on players leaving [laughs] but I have a small squad since the beginning of the season," he said after their 0-0 draw with Chippa United on Saturday.

"We brought 20 players with us and only three are left there which are Siyanda Xulu, Phumlani Ntshangase and Deolin Mekoa because of injuries.

"We don't have another eleven players sitting at home you know."

With Thamsanqa Sangweni released, the Team of Choice don't have too many options in midfield and if they suffer another long-term injury like Ntshangase, Tinkler will need a player to fill that gap.

"So we do have to bring in one more, I do feel we need to fill one more," he admitted.

"Just to strengthen our midfield and give us certain options because we are really fragile there if we lose players to injuries."
