Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Shaun Bartlett put on his head coach hat over the weekend and managed to lead his charges to a 7-1 thumping over Bloemfontein Celtic.
Bartlett left Ernst Middendorp's squad and stood in for Arthur Zwane, who was earlier called up as an assistant to Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki, with Chiefs' reserve team in their Multichoice Diski Challenge on Sunday.
The former AmaTuks and Golden Arrows head coach was not out of his depth though, as he oversaw Amakhosi's second victory of the season so far, which also happened to be their biggest.
Sibusiso Milazi, Yaseen Bunting and Keletso Sifama all bagged a brace, while Tshepo Mohlala chipped in with a goal of his own at the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu.
The Glamour Boys took a 2-0 lead into the half-time break, thanks to a brace within 12 minutes from Sifama, who profited off some poor defending from Celtic, before Bunting proved he could do better by ramming home a double within four minutes in the second half.
Mohlala then got in on the action to make it 5-0 just before the hour mark, but substitute Milazi was not to be outdone as he slammed home the final two nails in the coffin in the space of just three minutes.
Phunya Sele Sele got a consolation goal in the 89th minute through Mokheti Pali, but it was just a small scratch on Bartlett's one-time return as a head coach as he now returns to Chiefs' first team ahead of this weekend's clash at home against Polokwane City.
