Sekhukhune win race for 12th signing

Premiership

Sekhukhune United have won the race for the services of a highly-rated midfielder from Pretoria Callies as they continue their signing spree.

Sekhukhune have long since been admirers of Mahlangu and were early chasers for his signature, alongside Golden Arrows, at the end of the 2020/21 season.

The 29-year-old attacker was then due to join Swallows FC in training with a view to signing but ultimately accepted an offer from Babina Noko.

"Sekhukhune United Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Pogiso Mahlangu (29) from the GladAfrica Championship side, Pretoria Callies..." read a statement from the DStv Premiership newbies.

Mahlangu impressed during last season's Nedbank Cup, in which he scored four goals in five games to help the Romans to the semi-finals.

The Limpopo outfit have thus far made 12 signings, including the additions of midfielder Edwin Gyimah and striker Charlton Mashumba on Thursday.

The GladAfrica Championship champions will open their Premiership account at 'home' to relegation survivors Chippa United at Makhulong Stadium on August 21.
