Rushine de Reuck has revealed the secret to Mamelodi Sundowns' impressive defence, with the defending champions still undefeated this season.
Sundowns are yet to concede in all five DStv Premiership matches played to date against AmaZulu, Chippa United, Kaizer Chiefs, TS Galaxy and Orlando Pirates, demonstrating an impressively resolute defence.
Goal-shy Swallows, who have scored just once in five games, will be the next team hoping to breach the seemingly impenetrable back-four.
"We are proud of ourselves in our defence as we have a good relationship off the field and it helps us on the field," says De Reuck.
"We know what is expected of us and we are playing for a big team, and we know that if we keep clean sheets the chances of us winning are very high, so we just need to continue working on that.
"It is not only us as defenders and the goalkeeper defending but it is everyone together so we must give credit to the whole team for their hard work."
Stretching all the way to last season, The Brazilians have conceded just once in the last 13 league games, which was in the 3-1 win over SuperSport United. Through that period, they have won 10 and drawn three.
However, while Swallows will arrive in the capital city battling for form and internal matters that have left head coach Brandon Truter placed on special leave with Simo Dladla taking over, De Reuck feels their threat can never be ignored.
"Swallows is a very difficult team to play against because they keep many clean sheets so it will not be an easy game," he added.
"It will be important for us to try and break them down and create chances. This is going to a league game, and it is different (to Swallows' recent 4-0 MTN 8 defeatto Cape Town City).
"For us, we need to win this game as it is important to go into the FIFA break with that winning feeling. Preparations have been going well and analysing so we know what we need to do to win the game, so it is going well."
