Fernandez finds fresh employment

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez is set to join Eric Tinkler as the goalkeeper coach at Maritzburg United.

KickOff.com has been reliably informed that Fernandez, who was part of Highlands Park's technical team that has been sold to Tim Sukazi's TS Galaxy, is set to move to KwaZulu-Natal.

"Fernandez will be joining Maritzburg United's technical team, he had discussions with the club from last week," a source close to the coach reveals. "It is unclear how long the deal will be but he will be announced soon."

Fernandez joined Highlands last season coming from a long break after his exit at Pirates in 2017 and will bring huge experience to The Team of Choice having also played for Bafana Bafana.

United chairman Farook Kadodia and Fernandez could not be reached for comment.
