Orlando Pirates legend Ronnie Zondi believes it is about time the club follows Mamelodi Sundowns' path and replaces Jozef Zinnbauer with a local coach.
Sundowns continued their good performances over the Sea Robbers by humiliating them 3-0 in Sunday, this time in a league encounter.
Zondi thinks the Buccaneers' technical team is partly to blame for being The Brazilians' whipping boys this season.
"If you look at Sundowns, that team was assembled over a period of time," Zondi tells KickOff.com.
"In any structure the management plays a very key role. I think they've created a good environment for those players at Sundowns. As for the technical team when Pitso [Mosimane] left, a very solid foundation was laid.
"I'm not sure the Pirates management are at the same level as the Sundowns management. By the look of things I'm not sure there's a solid structure. The technical team, they are always found wanting, let alone the loss against Sundowns, even against other teams.
"I mean they struggle and the team is not consistent. Again, the local combination in Sundowns' technical team is very powerful. The three top teams currently are doing very well with the local coaches. So I think it's about time we recognise a local coach.
"Well I think it's about time Pirates get a local coach because Zinnbauer has not managed to put [together] a very strong team. On paper when you look at Pirates they have a very good team, but when it comes to playing they struggle hey.
"They struggled even to equalise in the Swallows game. So it's evident they need to do something. Maybe they need to look at what the top three teams are doing and copy that because you can't ignore something good that is happening.
"Sundowns, wow! No, they do their thing, baba."
