The PSL on Tuesday announced Stars had entered the play-offs in place of Ajax Cape Town, who were automatically relegated to the National First Division after being docked points for fielding an ineligible player in Tendai Ndoro.
Ajax yesterday were trying to interdict the play-offs.
De Sa and his charges had been training in the interim in hope of SAFA's ruling going their way. The Phokeng-based outfit are now scheduled to face Black Leopards today at 15h00 at Thohoyandou Stadium.
"Fortunately we managed to keep the players here. Obviously it is very short notice, the day before the game [but] it is what it is. We have got to take our chances and have a go at it," De Sa said.
"Now we have to play by the rules, get there and hopefully get the guys to perform tomorrow [today]. It’s a very difficult game against Leopards away from home. Now we have got to show metal. We’ve got to have a second bite at it and hopefully we can take advantage of the opportunity."
De Sa insists they’ve done their homework on the men from Limpopo.
"We’ve had a look at a couple of their videos and we watched them play so we are not going in totally blind. They are a very hungry team. We have to match them every step of the way if we are going to have a chance to have a go at this and survive.
"We have shown signs that we are getting better; our games haven’t been bad. We hope to continue that form. We can get a little bit of the hunger to come back to the team and the players. The confidence is there and we will give it our best shot."
