Chippa United coach Rhulani Mokwena has hailed his new chairman Siviwe 'Chippa' Mpengesi for his leadership qualities.

Mokwena started his tenure as head coach for United with a fair result after his team drew 0-0 with Bidvest Wits in Johannesburg on Saturday.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach has signed with the Chilli Boys on loan until the end of the season.

Mokwena has since likened the leadership qualities of Mpengesi to those of his previous bosses including Patrice Motsepe and Irvin Khoza.

"I have had a couple of interactions with him [Mpengesi] now. I know a lot has been said about him but really I am taken aback and pleasantly surprised by his human qualities, his work ethic, his humility, his passion," says Mokwena.

"He is ambitious and extremely supportive. It's been good so far, I am really impressed. In fact, his leadership qualities remind me a lot of my previous bosses.

"I think if he continues to work as hard as he is, I think he will achieve the objectives set up for the club."

Mokwena's next assignment as coach of the Chilli Boys is a league game against Cape Town City on 20 March before the FIFA break at the end of this month.
