Yeye believes TSG can win the league

TS Galaxy midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane has spoken boldly of what the DStv Premiership newcomers can achieve this season.

Letsholonyane, 38, is still going strong in his 18-year long career and has started a new chapter with Galaxy, who purchased the status of Highlands Park ahead of this season.

The former Kaizer Chiefs star is widely considered one of the best central midfielders in the PSL era and continues to impart his knowledge and experience in the game to his teammates around him.

Having won a total of nine trophies in his career thus far, the veteran playmaker has not rested on his laurels and believes the Rockets are well capable of landing the most prized possession in South African football come the end of May next year.

"We can go as far as [number] one in the league," Letsholonyane boldly told the club's official website recently.

"It is going to be a huge challenge but if we put our mind in to something, keep working hard and stay humble and don’t tell ourselves that we’ve arrived, we will qualify for top eight and go as far as we can."

With Dan Malesela's charges having enjoyed a promising start to life in the top flight, 'Yeye' believes the current FIFA international break affords them a chance to sharpen their arsenal in order to build on their three-match unbeaten run once domestic action resumes.

"It is a positive start for the team. We’ve collected five points out of a possible nine. It is a morale booster for us that we haven’t lost a game.

"The most important thing for us during this break is to keep working hard and fix our mistakes. We are facing two weeks without playing an official game.

"It doesn’t mean that we as players have to relax. We have a job at hand. These situations are more mental than physically.

"If you don’t have anything to train for, usually your mind tends to relax but we need to learn that even if there are no games for the next week or two, we still need to concentrate and focus.

"We have to keep doing the right things. We have to keep doing things that will make us better."
