Chiefs duo comment on unfamiliar roles

Kaizer Chiefs' duo of Reeve Frosler and Njabulo Ngcobo have commented on their deployment in unfamiliar roles in recent times.

Chiefs are currently facing a mini-crisis in defence where both S'fiso Hlanti and Sbusiso Mabiliso have been ruled out with injuries, the former of whom is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

As a result, Amakhosi coach Stuart Baxter has been forced to tweak his backline and opted to field right-back Reeve Frosler in a less familiar role on the opposite flank last weekend.

"I don’t mind playing either right or left," Frosler told Chiefs' media team ahead of Wednesday's clash against AmaZulu.

"It was just nice to play again and for me personally I hope to keep working hard and to get some more game time."

Meanwhile, reigning PSL Defender of the Season Njabulo Ngcobo has predominantly been used in a midfield role this season where the 27-year-old is now starting to excel higher up the pitch.

"We’re getting there as a team, for now, we are doing okay. I’m getting used to playing in the midfield," Ngcobo added.

Both Ngcobo and Frosler are expected to feature for Chiefs on Wednesday when the Amakhosi play host to Usuthu at the FNB Stadium.
