Kaizer Chiefs stalwart Itumeleng Khune is no longer the PSL’s most valuable goalkeeper after being unseated at the top of the chart by one of his local rivals.
It has been a difficult and frustrating past year-and-a-half for Khune, who has had to deal with numerous injury setbacks that have resulted in him losing his number-one jersey at the club.

The 32-year-old shotstopper has managed just four appearances since the end of December 2018, and as a result has found himself deputising for Daniel Akpeyi at Chiefs.
The Bafana Bafana star has also since lost his national team spot and, added to that, his estimated market value has fallen considerably.
‘Itu’ has seen his price tag plummet from around R24,8-million – at the current Euro-to-Rand exchange rate – in January 2019 to around R15,8-million as of April this year, according to Transfermarkt.com.
This is the first time he has been valued under 1-million Euros since July 2017, leaving the PSL with no goalkeeper in the million-Euro club.
Others on the list include Mamelodi Sundowns’ number-one Denis Onyango, Daniel Akpeyi, Richard Ofori and Orlando Pirates’ second-choice Joris Delle.
