Mamelodi Sundowns
They might have missed out on big signings such as Jeremy Brockie, Phakamani Mahlambi, Lebogang Manyama and Aubrey Ngoma, but Sundowns cannot feel bad about the business they have done during the window. To sign Oupa Manyisa, George Lebese, Razak Brimah, Thokozani Sekotlong and then secure Rivaldo Coetzee on deadline day is brilliant for a Sundowns squad that already has quality. Sundowns also promoted promising youngsters Thendo Mukumela and Keletso Makgalwa.

Orlando Pirates
A lot of Pirates supporters were hoping that the club would make additions on transfer deadline day, but the Buccaneers were just as quiet as their Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs. But Pirates did fairly well in the market, especially with the addition of Wayne Sandilands from Sundowns. With Sandilands in goal, the Buccaneers no longer need to stress about the terrible goalkeeping we saw last season. Thamsanqa Sangweni and Musa Nyatama are good additions and will bring something fresh in midfield.

Baroka FC
After surviving relegation via the play-offs, Baroka promised that they would reinforce their squad. Siphelele Ntshangase is one of the best signings made by a club during the window period. They did well to sign goalkeeper Virgil Vries because Oscarine Masuluke is error prone. Abdi Banda looks a good player from the little we’ve seen so far, while on-loan Pirates midfielder Gift Motupa can get back to his best without the pressure from supporters.

Cape Town City
After Eric Tinkler left to join SuperSport United, City replaced him with Benni McCarthy, who has made a good start so far. Then it was down to business and they bolstered their squad with the likes of Ayanda Patosi, Teko Modise, Lyle Lakay, Jeitoso, Sage Stephens and Taariq Fielies. Fieles, signed from the now defunct Milano United, has shown that he is a solid defender. Lebogang Manyama has left for Europe, but Patosi is fast becoming their hero.

Bidvest Wits
The champions did not want to rest on their laurels, so they went out to add to their squad. Steven Pienaar, Daylon Claasen, Bokang Thlone, Slavko Damjanovic, Kobamelo Kodisang, Anthony Gordinho and Amr Gamal were brought in, giving the Clever Boys depth in their squad.
