George Chigova and Talent Chawapiwa have backed Zimbabwean head coach Sunday Chidzambwa's decision of using the COSAFA Cup to prepare for the Africa Cup of Nations.
With top talents such as Edmore Sibanda, Ronald Pfumbidzai, Evans Rusike, Butholezwe Ncube, Ovidy Karuru and Khama Billiat, Chidzambwa's side got a good run in the COSAFA Cup, reaching the semifinals where they lost to Zambia.
“Yeah I support him because it's good preparation for the team and players get game time as well," goalkeeper Chigova tells KickOff.com.
“I do support him because these games are being used as part of preparations and to get combinations too," added Chawapiwa.
Zimbabwe’s AFCON campaign begins with a tough encounter against hosts Egypt on Friday. The Warriors will be hoping to upset the hosts to give themselves a good chance of progressing to the knockout stage of the competition.
