Mwape brace earns draw for Usuthu

Rise and Shine twice went ahead through a penalty by Roggert Nyundu and an own-goal by Larry Horaeb, but Mwape’s brace ensured a share of the points for Usuthu.
Polokwane got off to a flying start, with Nyundu converting a penalty in the fourth minute to put the home side 1-0 up. The spot-kick was awarded after AmaZulu defender Carlington Nyadombo handled the ball in the 18-yard area.
Just a couple of minutes later the Durban side could have levelled the scores from a penalty of their own after John Arwuah was brought down in the box by Thapelo Tshilo, but Nyadombo missed the spot-kick.
However, on the half-hour mark Usuthu levelled the game at 1-1. Paul Were created a chance for striker Mwape, who beat Dino Visser with a right-footed shot.
The match went to half-time with the teams locked at 1-1, but it took less than 20 minutes of the second stanza for Polokwane to move back in front. This time it was an own-goal from Horaeb that put the home side 2-1 ahead.
A third penalty in the match arrived with less than a quarter-hour to play. This time City goalkeeper Visser was the guilty party, bringing down Mwape in the box. The Zambian brushed himself off and slotted home the penalty to make it 2-2.

The result helps neither side move out of the bottom two of the Absa Premiership table.
