Callies send on loan stars back to Chiefs


Keletso Sifama and Thabo Mokoena have both returned to Kaizer Chiefs after having their loan deals terminated by Pretoria Callies.

The duo joined the GladAfrica Championship outfit at the beginning of the current season in a season-long loan deal from Amakhosi.

Also shown the exit door at Callies is former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs striker, Edward Manqele alongside SuperSport United defender Thabo Moloi whose contracts were terminated this week.

According to sources close to the Romans, goalkeeper Abram Ngcobo is also on his way out of the club and is set to return back to Mamelodi Sundowns.

"The club had about 43 first-team players which was too much for the Chairman's budget.

"The team doesn't have a sponsor and as you can imagine, everything relies on his own pocket," a source revealed to KickOff.

"Yes, the club has its own challenges like even some top-flight clubs.

"Unfortunately there are forces that are out to destroy the team by feeding the media wrong information.

"The club is in the process of releasing some players to have a manageable squad.

"Players like Edward Manqele has been released and those two boys have gone back to Chiefs."

Pretoria Callies is expected to announce former SuperSport United head of development, Kwanele Kopo as their new coach.
