Pretoria Callies have handed former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns striker Edward Manqele a lifeline.
Manqele has joined Callies on a one-year deal after reaching an agreement with the club last week.
The 34-year-old forward joins Zambian striker Collins Mbesuma, who also penned a one-year contract with the Romans ahead of the 2021/22 season.
Callies spokesperson Doctor Maphalle has confirmed the developments at the team.
"Edward Manqele is now our player. This issue of contracts is a confidential matter. I can only confirm that Edward Manqele will be playing for Pretoria Callies this coming season," Maphalle tells KickOff.com.
Meanwhile, Maphalle has also refuted some reports suggesting that the club was up for sale.
"Pretoria Callies is not going anywhere. The club is not for sale. We are currently in Polokwane to prepare for the new season," he adds.
"I want to ask people busy sending those rumors around to refrain from doing that."
