PSL duo on the brink of milestone

With a single round of matches to be played before the league campaign concludes, the duo remain the only PSL players that can cross the finish line with the joy of having featured in every minute of all 30 league games.

Dube has been a figure of reliability at Celtic – where he has been on loan from Pirates through the last two seasons.

The 24 year-old has made the right-back position his own this term, playing from start to finish in all of the 29 league games to date and will reach an incredible milestone if he plays 90 minutes against Maritzburg United on Saturday.

Semenya has also played right-back this season at Rise and Shine although he did feature as a central defender in two games along the way.

In a country obsessed with judging players based on their age Semenya has performed incredibly back in his home province for the first time in his professional career.

He turns 35 in September.

In March last year Semenya had to deal with the tragic passing of his wife in a car accident while at Platinum Stars.

He then left the miners at the end of last season, returning home to Limpopo where he has been so phenomenal that he has played every minute of all 29 league games up to now for City.

Another four players George Chigova (Polokwane City), Deon Hotto (Celtic), Mothobi Mvala (Highlands Park) and Tendai Ndoro of Orlando Pirates can also wrap up the season having been involved in every league match.

Unlike Dube and Semenya, this quartet has not played every minute having either been substituted or come on from the bench along the way.

Chigova started all 29 games to date but was substituted halfway through the game against Highlands Park in September last year due to injury.

Hotto has also been involved in all the games at Celtic but has had to be taken off or come on from the bench several times just like Ndoro whose goal drought this year has also led to him having to be used as a second half substitute.

Mvala came on from the bench in the opening two league games for his club but has played 90 minutes in the 27 games since then.
